Accessibility Statement
Last updated: February 9, 2026
1. Our Commitment
SweepFeed is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone should be able to discover and enter sweepstakes with equal ease. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our platform usable by the widest possible audience.
2. Conformance Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Our accessibility efforts are also guided by the requirements of:
- ADA Title III — Americans with Disabilities Act, Title III (Public Accommodations)
- Section 508 — Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended
- EN 301 549 — European accessibility standard for ICT products and services
3. Measures Taken
SweepFeed takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy for screen reader navigation
- Full keyboard navigation support throughout the application, including sweepstakes cards, filters, and forms
- Screen reader compatible labels, ARIA attributes, and live regions for dynamic content updates (e.g., feed refreshes, notifications)
- Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) for all text and interactive elements
- Responsive design that functions correctly at various zoom levels (up to 200%) without loss of content or functionality
- Visible focus indicators for all interactive elements with a minimum 2px outline
- Alternative text for all meaningful images, including sweepstakes logos and prize images
- Respect for user preferences including
prefers-reduced-motion,prefers-contrast, andprefers-color-scheme - Skip navigation links to allow keyboard users to bypass repeated content
- Form labels and error messages that are programmatically associated with their input fields
- No content that flashes more than three times per second
4. Compatibility
SweepFeed is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Voice recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Windows Speech Recognition)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Switch access devices
We test with modern versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, as well as their mobile counterparts.
5. Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, the following limitations are currently known:
- Third-party sweepstakes content: When you click through to a sponsor's website, that site's accessibility is beyond our control. We are committed to working with our partners to improve accessibility across all content.
- User-submitted images: Winner story photos submitted by users may not always include descriptive alt text. We automatically apply generic descriptions and encourage users to provide their own.
- Legacy PDF documents: Some older legal documents may not be fully accessible. We are progressively converting these to accessible HTML format.
6. Assessment and Remediation
We conduct periodic accessibility audits using a combination of:
- Automated testing tools (axe, Lighthouse, WAVE)
- Manual testing with assistive technologies
- Keyboard-only navigation testing
- User feedback and reported issues
When accessibility issues are identified, we prioritize remediation based on severity and impact. Critical accessibility barriers that prevent users from accessing core functionality are treated as high-priority bugs and addressed within 5 business days. Non-critical issues are addressed within 30 days.
